Balloons, streamers, smiling faces and a shared meal: Tuition Day 2025 was our way of saying thank you to the children who show up to learn every single day.
Some days remind you exactly why you do this work. IFAMS Tuition Day 2025 was one of them. Our free tuition centre in Pattiveeranpatti was transformed with colourful streamers, balloons and hand-made decorations, and filled from wall to wall with children, teachers, parents and well-wishers who came together to celebrate one simple thing: the joy of learning.
Free tuition is at the heart of what IFAMS Educational Trust does. For many children in our community, after-school support is the difference between falling behind and moving ahead with confidence. Tuition Day is our way of recognising the effort these students put in, all year long.
A room full of colour and excitement
From the moment the children walked in, the excitement was impossible to miss. The words "IFAMS Tuition Day 2025" stretched across the wall in bright letters, framed by ribbons in every colour and a cheerful teddy bear cut-out that quickly became the most popular photo spot of the day.
Children sat together on the floor, shoulder to shoulder, while our teachers, dressed in their blue uniforms and badges, welcomed every family. Many of the children posed proudly beside the decorations, some for their very first photograph at a school event.
Honouring our teachers and volunteers
Behind every confident child is a patient teacher. Our tuition teachers spend their evenings helping students with homework, clearing doubts, and building the kind of steady routine that makes real progress possible. Tuition Day gave us a chance to thank them publicly, alongside the volunteers and community members who support the centre.
It was also a moment for parents to see the learning environment for themselves, meet the teachers, and share in their children’s pride.
Fun, games and a surprise guest
No celebration is complete without a little fun. A costumed mascot made a surprise appearance, and the room erupted into laughter and cheers as children crowded around for high-fives and photos. Moments like these matter: when children associate learning with happiness, they keep coming back.
Sharing a meal together
The day ended the way the best celebrations in our culture do: with a meal shared together. Children sat in long rows along the corridor, plates in front of them, as volunteers served everyone with care. For some families, a nutritious meal is not something to take for granted, and sitting down to eat together turned a happy day into a truly memorable one.
Why free tuition matters
Many students in rural Dindigul district are first-generation learners. Their parents work hard, often long hours, and may not be able to help with schoolwork or afford private coaching. Our free tuition centres fill that gap by offering:
- A safe, supportive space to study after school
- Regular help with homework and difficult subjects
- Encouragement that builds confidence and good study habits
- A community of friends who are all working towards the same goal
Every child deserves someone who believes in them. Our tuition centres exist so that no child in our community has to learn alone.
